Armenia: More Copyright Violations
A comment left on a recent Unzipped post leads to a poster likening President Serge Sargsyan and the ruling Republican Party to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Again, the image was used without permission and is a violation of national and international copyright law.
The situation is terrible in Armenia for respect for the work of photographers with various news agencies, political parties and NGOs violating mine on a regular basis. The last three culprits were Hetq Online, the Ter-Petrossian-linked Zhamanak newspaper (here and here), and one local NGO, Future is Open (see here).
For the record — once again — here are the terms of the Creative Commons License for Noncommercial-No Derivative Works use.
Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work). Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes. No Derivative Works. You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work. For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work. The best way to do this is with a link to this web page. Any of the above conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder. Nothing in this license impairs or restricts the author’s moral rights.
