Bizarre. Despite being allowed free use of my images as long as there is a credit, Future is Open instead simply removed them. This was not necessary. A credit was -- as was stipulated when they requested use, and according to my copyright.

Seems like they wanted free use, but without having to credit the photographer i.e. me. Strange, but typical of a country where copyright infringement is rampant and where the hard work of a small number of photojournalists is not appreciated. Sigh.

Interesting to compare the Western approach to copyright infringement and that in Armenia where property of any sort is not respected.

For example, in 2006 I was commissioned to do some work for Habitat for Humanity (<a href="http://oneworld.blogsome.com/category/habitat-for-humanity/" rel="nofollow">http://oneworld.blogsome.com/category/habitat-for-humanity/</a>) and they recently used one on their web site without credit.

When informed of the ommission they INSTANTLY added it. I am still waiting for a response from Future is Open who used the images free of charge.

I have not received any response from Future is Open about the violation of terms for use of my images on their web site and I've also discovered they've used other images without credit. The situation is appalling and must change now.

As it is I haven't even received a thanks let alone an apology or word that they'll add a credit so they can still use the images. Amazing.
