Sirusho Eurovision Rehearsal
The Armenian Observer posts video of Armenia’s entry into the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, Sirusho, rehearsing in Belgrade. Although there have been some concerns whether the song is too demanding to sing live, the young singer comes across very well in the clip. However, the blog reports, with politics influencing almost everything here at present, plans by the opposition to urge a boycott are still ongoing if somewhat more muted.
[…] the Boycott blog has removed the text of boycott call, where it was suggesting the Armenian diaspora to boycott the Eurovision song contest and instead of spending money on SMS-ing Eurovision, to donate that money to the families of the 10 people who died in the aftermath of the March 1 violence in Yerevan. The blog says the text has been removed to avoid extremist points of views, however, the plans to boycott Sirusho are still underway.
