Hard to say. The sentence is confusing. Two policemen AND soldiers died, or two policemen/soldiers died. The ninth victim was identified as a conscript, I think. Dunno, but regardless of whether it was a mistranslation, typo or whatever, It does once again stress the need for an urgent independent inquiry. But as RFE/RL didn't pick up on this and report "Kocharian admits soldiers killed," I'd guess it's just confusing or a mistake. Then again, who really knows? However, until some official statement or other press reports, I'm sticking with what we knew already. That is, 10 killed (8 civilians, 2 security forces) although its highly possible that the death toll could still increase on either or both sides.
