I'm new to your blog Onnick. I must admit that a knot is an interesting concept and it gets my attention.

I am interested to know why you chose the idea of the knot for your blog. Do you see the "knot" as a good thing in that it might keep stability or do you think something has to be "undone" before everything is OK? Or something completely different?

Onnik,
I didn’t accuse you of being pro-LTP. I didn’t even criticise you. Reread my text please. I just expressed a grievance to a fellow “neither-nor” person.

Incidentally, in the photo above showing a senior police officer walking past the line of other policemen outside the presidential palace it should be known that to each of them he said "whatever happens, do not do anything. stand still."

This in my mind also discredits the A1 Plus report that suggest the police officers were intimidating protesters. To be frank, clashes or problems on 24 April is the LAST thing the government would want and they made sure they did not happen.

Of course, I hope that this behavior and restraint by the police continues. Only when they are physically attacked should they respond and even then with the minimum force necessary. Anyway, regardless, I once again commend the police for their work yesterday.

Here's hoping that I can say that again sometime soon.

It is clear that we can disagree, but, at the end of the day we stood together in our duty to the world and each other.

I am sincerely proud of Armenians today.

Azadakan, this blog is only me and I can't be everywhere at the same time. Moreover, I knew when Dashnaks were holding their event on 23 April and when Ter-Petrossian's people were holding theirs on 24 April. Heritage did not inform me of when they would be going up to pay their respects so how could I cover it?

As for the work of Heritage, I agree, and it's kind of ironic that your comment implies that I covered the LTP rally because I'm a supporter or something when I'm being accused of being a Serge Supporter by them. I can't win and again this shows the inability of people to allow anyone the benefit of actually being neutral or at least for neither.

Besides, I have interviewed Raffi Hovannisian and Stepan Safarian as well as covered their activities in 2006 and 2007 when the other media didn't. If they inform me of events and they are newsworthy or interesting enough I will again cover them. That, I'm afraid, is how the media works and like I said, this is a blog anyway, and I will cover what I can when time allows.

On 23-24 April it was the ARF-D and the LTP marches. Any other events I wasn't informed about.

Organizing a sectarian march on April 24 shows once more how authentic the “pan-national” movement is.

Unfortunately, as far as grabbing the public attention, media coverage and bloggers’ interest are concerned it seems pseudo-revolutionary provocations count more than genuine work.

Here, I would like to praise the Heritage party that is doing an excellent job defending democracy and civil rights at grassroots level as well at institutional level. The Heritage people are determined, dynamic and at the same time pragmatic and humble.

I wish you had included pictures of their courageous MPs in your report instead of those of Levon TP, Karen D and Armen S.

Sad and disgusting! Some assholes are burning the flag of the Turkish Republic (if they had brains, they would at least burn the Ottoman Empire's standard), and some other assholes are chanting the name of their leader - where?! - at the march to commemorate the victims of the Genocide. The number of idiots is on the increase in Armenia...

Well, at least the Dashnak's march has SOMETHING to do with April 24.

As far as appropriateness, I guess that is for everyone to decide which to participate, view, or be turned off by.

As far as A1+'s coverage, they continue to do everything possible to make the government decision to deny them TV frequency look like a smart decision. I can no longer even give them the benefit of the doubt in terms of honesty or even high-school level journalism.

Vahagn - If basic human rights like freedom of assembly and freedom of speech were allowed in Armenia, there would have been no need for a separate march. And as far as "exposing hatred", they weren't the ones burning flags like a Middle Eastern country, the Dashnaks did that. Flag burning has no place on a day of reflection and remembrance.

>who think they should expose their hatred towards other Armenians

Vahagn - I don't think "exposing hatred" was the intention of the opposition, and while the situation is bad enough as it is and I disapprove politicizing the Genocide Rememberance day, I think comments like yours are also making things worse and are "exposing hatred" towards the opposition.

Hello. I think the idea of having a rally of some Armenians against some other armenian on such a day - the day of 93th memorial of the Armenian genocide victims - was not a good idea at all! I fully disrespect those "leaders" of our oBOZition who think they should expose their hatred towards other Armenians even at this day...
