1 March Requiem Service
E-Channel reports that a requiem service will be held in Holy Etchmiadzin and other churches to commemorate the 40th day of the deaths of eight people in the 1 March riot in central Yerevan. The actual 40th day, however, comes on 9 April when president-elect Serge Sargsyan is inaugurated.
The day is considered a potential flash point so it is interesting to note that the Armenian Apostolic Church is holding a ceremony possibly in order to defuse tensions ahead of next Wednesday. A1 Plus also briefly carries the news.
In remembrance of March 1 victims a requiem will be organized in major churches and in Holy See of Echmiadzin on April 6
