Levon Ter-Petrossian Facing Prosecution

AFP reports that the authorities are preparing to charge former president and opposition leader, Levon Ter-Petrossian for stoking post-election unrest. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Justice speaking to the news agency yesterday and follows the detention of senior Ter-Petrossian associates such as Alexander Arzumanian and Ararat Zurabian.

“Today law-enforcement agencies conducting the investigation already have sufficient evidence to instigate criminal action against Levon Ter-Petrosian,” Justice Minister Gevorg Danielian told AFP in an interview.

“The investigation will show which exact charges will be brought against him. He has crossed from the political sphere to the criminal sphere.”
