Actually, the situation is still unclear. For example, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the BBC's correspondent from Tbilisi who is in town that the state of emergency restriction does not apply to his reporting.

However, for the period of this election and its aftermath I am accredited with a local media organization and unlike Matthew am resident in the country which means technically and legally I am subject to the same restrictions as citizens and journalists.

On the other hand, Global Voices Online is a foreign organization like the BBC is (neither of which are registered here), but I think that restrictions on foreigners and bloggers might well be enforced according to each case. We know they're monitored and I would imagine they are even more so now.

Let's see. However, in those instances where I can't post something I'm going to let someone from outside the country do so instead. I'll play it by ear and see what happens.

Just to clarify the situation, I can report and post entries from Armenia, but only within the limits set by the state of emergency. However, some good news, it looks as though someone outside of the country will be updating this blog as well as Global Voices Online when it comes to information prohibited by the current emergency situation. Not sure when this will start, however, and it's not 100 percent certain. It depends on his time, but I'm expecting confirmation later. Fingers crossed.
