A1 Plus, 24 February, 2008

Spokesman for the RA Defense Ministry Seyran Shahsuvarian made a statement today.

After the presidential election of February 19, 2008, some senior members of the Yerkrapah (defender of the land) Union of Karabakh War Veterans breached the Union charter and buzzed an indecent activity thus tarnishing the Union’s reputation and hampering the country’s further prosperity.

They have taken an unbiased political course. The Union administration takes no preventive measures against its members.

Therefore, assessing the role and significance of the Union, honouring the memory of Karabakh War Veterans and guided by the firm decision to serve our country, we resign our membership,

And if Manvel Grigorian doesn't address the Ter-Petrossian meeting today I'd like to request that EurasiaNet cease from quoting anonymous sources who might actually support Ter-Petrossian and be just as interested in destabilizing the situation in Armenia as the former president is. The journalist who wrote the EurasiaNet article is close to Nikol Pashinian and another key member of Ter-Petrossian's campaign team and it's quite possible that they might be using her to channel misinformation out as well. Regardless, I reserve judgment until we see whether General Manvel materializes in Liberty Square or not.
