Serge Sargsyan’s Supporters Heading for Yerevan?

E-Channel reports that despite attempts to prevent their movement towards the capital, the Armenian police say that supporters of the prime minister, Serge Sargsyan, are heading for Yerevan. While I have to treat such reports from the police with some skepticism, one concern is obvious if the report is true. That is, that there will be clashes.

According to the data of the police Serzh Sargsyan’s supporters from the regions are coming to Yerevan. They are coming on foot, by public transport and personal cars.

Sayad Shirinyan, the press officer of the police, has told Arminfo agency that there is a big flow of people from the Ararat and Kotayk regions.

“Local authorities and the police are trying to quiet down the people and not allow their movement to the capital,” Shirinyan has said.
