Sit-Down Protest in Liberty Square

Artur Baghdasarian 255A1 Plus reports that Heghine Bisharyan, presidential candidate Artur Baghdasarian’s campaign manager, has addressed those assembled for a sit-down protest demonstration in Yerevan’s Liberty Square.

She declared that their candidate Arthur Baghdasaryan had always been with the nation and at the moment the ballot papers were being re-counted at all election districts and “the number of votes of our candidates is increasing”. According to her, they will wait until the ballot papers are re-counted and then Arthur Baghdasaryan will make a corresponding announcement.

A1 Plus reports that Liberty Square is currently “crowded” while ArmInfo says that the demonstration is being attended by “dozens,” whatever that means. However, from the photographs on A1 Plus’ site it looks like about 20,000, but no independent estimate or confirmation is available yet.
