NATO Secretary General Encouraged By Election
PanArmenian.Net reports that NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer is encouraged by the preliminary findings of the International Election Observation Mission on the 19 February presidential election in Armenia. However, he added, various problems remain to be addressed.
[C]oncerns have also been raised and they have to be addressed. NATO looks forward to continue working with Armenia in the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) to lend support, where we can, to the strengthening of Armenia’s democratic institutions,” he said.
