IYC: Insufficient Electoral Culture
Mediamax reports that It’s Your Choice (IYC), the largest domestic election observation organization in the country, today announced its verdict on the 19 February presidential election in Armenia. IYC’s Chairperson Harutiun Hambardzumian is reported to have said that the majority of polling stations were peaceful with voting and the vote count conducted in accordance with the law.
“It’s Your Choice” gave positive assessment to the operative manner of information provision on the vote count by CEC, as well as the actions, taken up by law-enforcement bodies, in connection with the registered violations.
However, Hambardzumian added, “a number of violations and shortcomings cast a shadow on our expectations concerning democratic elections.”
