That's definitely the case for today and tomorrow, yes, and it's been officially announced. At the moment I'm trying to see how many students have been told about 20th. That's not official. Some say they definitely have no classes then. Others that they don't know or nothing has changed although in this case, their university is well out of the center. Regardless, let's hope nothing happens on 20 February and all will be peaceful.

On my way to work today, I noticed that the marshrutkas were rather empty and that there were less students (or should I say: people of student age) than usual in them. I have a feeling that many universities are also closed today and tomorrow. I think the reason might be to give students the opportunity to travel to their towns and villages of origin, where they are registered and have to vote.

You might well be right, though, about the reason why classes for the 20th are being cancelled.
