Well, I guess the British Embassy must read my blog because I just received this email which also had an introduction specifically addressed to me indicating it was not sent out as a regular mail shot:

MESSAGE TO BRITISH COMMUNITY – ELECTION PERIOD

· There is the possibility of disturbances during next week in the election period. We have seen no direct evidence of any risk of this at this time.

· Members of the community should remain vigilant and avoid potential flash points, for example large demonstrations.

· The Embassy has updated its contingency plans and will keep the situation under review

· Please ensure you are registered with the Embassy, and the Embassy has your up-to-date contact details. If you know of British nationals who have not registered with the Embassy, we would be grateful if you could recommend they register with us as soon as possible.

Anyway, for British citizens out there not registered at the Embassy, contact details are available on their web site.
