Ter-Petrossian Ally Stepan Demirchian Insists Russian Meetings Took Place
Although press reports that Levon Ter-Petrossian met with deputy prime minister, Dmitry Medvedev, on his recent visit to Moscow are disputed, Mediamax says that one of the former president’s key allies, People’s Party Leader Stepan Demirchian, is quoted by the Russian media as insisting that it took place.
“The visit was successful. Our candidate was received at the highest level and I can say that after the election of Ter-Petrosian the relations with Russia will rise to a new level”, Leader of the People’s Party of Armenia Stepan Demirchian stated. What concerns the meeting of Ter-Petrosian and Medvedev, according to the PPA Leader, “if there is such information, this means that the meeting took place”. Mr. Demirchian categorically refused to make other comments on this topic”, “Kommersant” reads.
