Some would argue that the criticism would be best directed at Ter-Petrossian and co and not least since the chain of falsified elections in Armenia started in 1996 and also because those same people in government that Ter-Petrossian's supporters despise are the same guys who Levon wants on his side now.

Actually, it could be argued that the population does not have much of a choice at all. The "lesser of two evils," as Manukian put it when it comes to Serge and Ter-Petrossian, a populist Artur Baghdasarian and a nationalist-orientated ARF-D.

Actually, fairs fair, the Dashnaks have shown themselves more democratically minded than Serge, Ter-Petrossian and Baghdasarian and the only reason I wouldn't vote for them if I were a citizen would be because of their position on Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Otherwise, considering the legacy of Ter-Petrossian as well as his current campaigning strategy, I don't consider them the worst of the crop. Probably, in terms of sheer hypocrisy, I'd stick Levon at no 1. Even Serge looks civilized in comparison although yes, he's not the president I would hope to see for Armenia.

Anyway, at least this election is being conducted in a more liberal and freer environment than before so let the voters decide. Whoever that is should then be recognized as the president regardless of what we might personally feel.
