Baghdasarian Confirms Negotiations
ArmInfo confirms that Artur Baghdasarian, Levon Ter-Petrossian and Raffi Hovannisian are currently negotiating ahead of the 19 February presidential election. However, as was the case at yesterday’s rally, Baghdasarian says that this does not necessarily mean he will withdraw in support of the first president.
Interestingly, ArmInfo also reports that Heritage says it is negotiating with “representatives of some other forces,” which one can only suppose means Dashnaktsutyun.
Asked to comment on the Feb 1 statement by Ter-Petrossyan that he had a serious ground for being convinced that Bagdassaryan and Hovannisian would join him, Bagdassaryan said that everything might happen. “We still have 17 days. We are negotiating, and, as soon as this process is finished, we will inform the public of its results. Then, you will see who will join who. I think that there will be changes in the opposition camp. The coming week will be decisive,” Bagdassaryan said.
As regards the party’s reported consultations with other political forces, Bagdassaryan said that they were negotiating the possibility of establishing a center for jointly fighting electoral fraud. […]
