There are provisions for the PM to still be employed and be a candidate but that is in case the PM is also the acting president and even in that case s/he is not allowed to use his/her position for gaining any advantage in the electoral process. Section one of article 78 of the electoral code prohibits a person to be a government employee and a presidential candidate at the same time. Obviously, SS has been breaking the law since his registration as a candidate.
