Accusations, Not Campaigning

ArmInfo reports that the former president, Levon Ter-Petrossian, is again implying that his successor, Robert Kocharian, and the prime minister, Serge Sargsyan, were responsible for masterminding the 27 October 1999 assassination in the Armenian National Assembly.

Criticizing Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, the ex-president stated: “Their power is based on the blood of national heroes Karen Demirchyan and Vazgen Sargsyan”. Another target of Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s criticism is the entourage of Serzh Sargsyan, his main opponent at the forthcoming presidential election. According to Ter-Petrosyan, this entourage has nothing but criminal elements. He said at a meeting with the voters of Arzakan that “Serzh Sargsyan’s victory may only lead to a new war and death”.
