Sargsyan Launches Pre-Election Campaign

E-Channel reports that the prime minister, Serge Sargsyan, has launched his pre-election campaign in the Vayots Dzor region of Armenia. Sargsyan was accompanied by Armenian pop singers including Emma Petrosyan, Aramo, Silva Hakobyan, and Forsh. However, the online news outlet says that not everyone among the 1,500 in attendance in Yeghegnadzor was impressed.

The concert was accepted with big enthusiasm. Silva Hakobyan, originally from Vayk, was granted with the warmest attitude. Elderly people that were interested in politics did not specifically like the performance of an unknown dance band, the participants of which – girls in shorts and semi-transparent stockings – were moving in oriental style under the Armenian music. On that pretext, an elderly man called Ashot said in a low voice, “After all, you are prime minister and presidential candidate. Was it worth bringing them with you?”
