Lesser of Two Evils

RFE/RL’s Liz Fuller says that mutual animosity and mistrust overshadow next month’s presidential election in Armenia and quotes Vazgen Manukian as well as Levon Ter-Petrossian referring to the vote and a possible solution to the Karabakh conflict as being a choice between “the bad and the [even] worse.”

“Many Armenians who recall the economic collapse they experienced during Ter-Petrossian’s presidency and the allegations of spectacular corruption surrounding some of his close associates may now view the upcoming presidential ballot in the same terms,” she concludes.
