Discredited Opinion, Exit Polls
Unzipped comments on news that the U.S. Embassy and the International Republican Institute (IRI) have scrapped plans to hold an exit poll during next month’s presidential election in Armenia.
Although the blogger was initially in favor of the idea, he now says that while the decision can be considered bad news, it was probably right given the widespread mistrust towards opinion polls in Armenia.
“[I]t’s almost impossible to get people accept the results, even in case of independent conduct of polls or (theoretical) clean elections,” the blogger concludes.
