Presidential Election Game

E-Channel reports that the British Embassy in Yerevan has funded a new educational computer game designed to raise civic awareness among schoolchildren. The game probably won’t have much of an impact on the imminent 2008 presidential election in Armenia, but as a tool to promote democracy it might prove interesting.

The game participants should choose their political direction (right-wing, left-wing or center-oriented) and conduct an online campaign – a “candidate” must have a slogan, meet various strata of the people, have debates with the other candidates, appear in the mass media, etc. The winner shall be the person who gets maximum votes from 10 social segments of voters – based on the course of the game, the elections can be considered fake, and the voting – revoked.
